Rear Roof Replacement, South Main Street
This was the lower roof at the back of an older clapboard building, 5 squares in all. We tore off the worn three-tab shingles down to the original board decking. Then we put down WeatherWatch leak barrier at the eaves, the valleys and where the roof meets the walls, FeltBuster synthetic underlayment over the rest, new drip edge and step flashing, and new pipe boots. The roof is finished in GAF Timberline HDZ shingles with Seal-A-Ridge caps. A small roof gets the same full GAF system as a whole house.
Roof Replacement and Gutter Cleaning, Palmer Farm Drive
Mature trees surround this house, and the gutters were packed with leaves and debris, with plants growing in them. We cleaned the gutters in August. In the fall we tore off the old roof, replaced 4 sheets of damaged decking and put on GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, working the main roof and the lower roof at the back.
Siding Replacement, Roelofs Road
The front of this home is brick. The back, sides and garage were covered in siding that had weathered and stained. We stripped the old siding, wrapped the walls in woven house wrap and hung new siding in a tan close to the original.
What We See on Yardley Homes
Yardley runs from the older borough along the Delaware River out to the newer neighborhoods of Lower Makefield Township. These three jobs show both. On South Main Street the roof was laid on the original board decking of an older clapboard building. Out on Palmer Farm Drive the problem was trees: shade, leaf litter and gutters full enough to grow plants. That is why we check the gutters and the decking on every estimate, not just the shingles.

- Yes. The South Main Street roof was 5 squares, about 500 sq ft. It got the same GAF system we put on a whole house: leak barrier, synthetic underlayment, new flashing, drip edge and pipe boots.
- What happens if the decking under my shingles is damaged?
- We replace it before the new roof goes on. On Palmer Farm Drive that meant 4 sheets. Every estimate includes replacing rotted or damaged decking, and the count is shown on your invoice.
- Do you do siding as well as roofing?
- Yes. On Roelofs Road we stripped the old siding from the back, sides and garage, wrapped the walls and installed new siding. See our siding page for more.
