Recent Willow Grove and Abington Projects
Rotted Decking Replaced and a New Roof, Beechwood Road, Willow Grove
When we tore the old roof off this ranch home, much of the decking underneath had rotted, and in places we opened the roof down to the rafters. We replaced it with 35 sheets of new 3/4-inch plywood before anything else went on, then installed the new shingle roof. We pulled the township permit for the job.
Roof Replacement Around a Solar Array, Fitzwatertown Road, Willow Grove
This roof carried four solar panels. We took the panels down so the roof beneath them could be replaced along with the rest, replaced two sheets of damaged decking, and installed a new GAF shingle roof over about 1,500 square feet.
New Roof, Gutters and Gutter Guards, Norman Road, Abington
On inspection the old roof was worn and the gutters were packed with leaves. We tore the roof off, replaced the damaged decking and installed a new shingle roof. We finished with new 6-inch white seamless aluminum gutters and gutter guards, so leaves stay out of them, and pulled the township permit.
What We See on Willow Grove and Abington Roofs
Many homes here sit under mature trees, and it shows on the roofs: moss and streaking on shaded shingles, and gutters that fill with leaves, as they had on Norman Road. The other thing we find is decking that has rotted under an old roof. On Beechwood Road that meant 35 sheets of new plywood.
