Roof Replacement, Violet Road, Levittown
One of Levittown's original post-war homes. Its old three-tab shingles were stained and worn. We tore the roof off and installed a new dark gray architectural shingle roof.
Commercial Flat Roof Repair, Lincoln Highway, Fairless Hills
A commercial building on Lincoln Highway with a TPO flat roof carrying several rooftop HVAC units and their lines. The membrane was stained where water had been sitting around the units. We resealed the pipes and lines that pass through the roof, filling pitch pockets around them with pourable sealant, and sealed the membrane around the units and their curbs.
Roof Tear-Off on a Riverfront Home, Radcliffe Street, Bristol
An older stone-and-siding home on Bristol's riverfront, with a tall gambrel roof. We tore the roof off to the deck. The house has landscaped beds right up to its stone walls, so before the tear-off we laid tarps over the lawn and beds to catch the old shingles.
What We See on Levittown-Area Roofs
Levittown and Fairless Hills were built in the early 1950s, so most homes here are several roofs into their life. Many were re-roofed with basic three-tab shingles like the ones on Violet Road, which wear out sooner than today's architectural shingles. Older homes along Bristol's riverfront have steeper, more complicated roofs than the post-war houses inland. Along Lincoln Highway and the area's commercial corridors, flat roofs are the norm. On those, leaks tend to start where pipes and rooftop units pass through the membrane.
