New Decking and Shingle Roof on a Manufactured Home, Hampton Drive
This manufactured home had a white-coated, low-slope roof, and the ceilings inside showed water stains. We laid new OSB decking the full length of the home, put down underlayment, set new vent flashings and finished it with a new gray shingle roof.
Shingle Roof and Flat Roof, South Lafayette Avenue
An older home with a steep shingle roof in front and a low-slope section at the back. The shingles were worn and stained, and the flat section had been patched. We tore off the old shingles, replaced decking and put down synthetic underlayment. The main roof got GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, and the low-slope section got a new white membrane, since shingles don't belong on a roof that flat.
Roof, Siding, Fascia and Gutters, Gordon Drive
One contract covered the roof and every wall of this two-story home. On the roof, we tore off the old shingles and replaced sections of the decking with new OSB, then installed GAF underlayment, a new shingle roof and a ridge vent. Later in the year the crew wrapped the walls in house wrap and replaced the siding on all four sides, going from the original light gray to a sage green. We also wrapped the fascia and installed new gutters.
What We See on Morrisville Roofs
Morrisville sits on the Delaware River across from Trenton, and its homes are a real mix. These three jobs were an older house with a low-slope rear section, a manufactured home and a two-story colonial, and each one needed a different roof. What they shared was the decking: on all three, we put down new decking once the old roof came off. That is why every estimate we write includes replacing damaged decking; it is not a surprise add-on after tear-off. Low-slope sections are the other thing to watch. Shingles need pitch to shed water, so a flat rear roof gets a membrane instead.

- Yes. On South Lafayette Avenue we put GAF Timberline HDZ shingles on the main roof and a new membrane on the low-slope section behind it, in the same job. See our flat roofing page for more.

- Yes. On Hampton Drive we replaced a white-coated low-slope roof with new decking and a shingle roof. Every manufactured home is built a little differently, so we inspect the roof and the ceilings inside before we write the estimate.
- Can you do the roof and the siding together?
- Yes. On Gordon Drive one contract covered the roof, new siding on all four sides, fascia wrap and new gutters. Doing them together means the roof edge, trim and gutters are planned as one job.
